Depending on how you use Krets, we may process:
Application data — name, email, discipline, and portfolio link when you apply for early access.
Account and profile — name, email, password (stored securely hashed), discipline, city, bio, social links, and profile image.
Portfolio and activity — projects you publish (images, audio, video, text), applause, comments, and related metadata such as upload time.
Messages — direct messages you send and receive on the platform.
Technical data — session cookies to keep you signed in, cookie preferences, and basic server logs (such as IP address and browser type) needed to run the service securely.
If you accept analytics cookies, we may collect aggregated usage data as described in our cookie policy.
We use personal data to:
— review membership applications and send invite links;
— provide accounts, profiles, portfolio hosting, discovery, and messaging;
— keep the platform secure and prevent abuse;
— improve Krets when you have consented to analytics cookies.
Our legal bases under GDPR typically include contract (running your account), legitimate interests (security, product improvement, manual curation), and consent where required (for example non-essential cookies).
We keep account data while your membership is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated content from the service, subject to short backup retention where technically necessary.
Application data is kept for as long as needed to process your request and maintain a record of decisions. Rejected applications may be deleted on a regular schedule.
Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
We do not sell your personal data. We use service providers that help us operate Krets (for example hosting, email delivery, and infrastructure). They may only process data on our instructions and for the purposes described here.
Content you publish may be visible to other members according to how the product works (for example public portfolio pages within the network).
We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of members and the public.
If you are in the EU/EEA (including Sweden), you may have the right to:
— access the personal data we hold about you;
— correct inaccurate data (many fields can be edited in your profile);
— delete your data (you can delete your account in profile settings);
— restrict or object to certain processing;
— withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
— lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Sweden: Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY).
To exercise your rights, email hello@krets.se. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Data is primarily processed within the EU/EEA. If we use providers outside the EU/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by law.
Krets is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.
We may update this policy as Krets evolves. We will post the new version on this page and adjust the date above. Continued use after material changes may mean the updated policy applies, where permitted by law.
