Blinkningar – Helsingborgs museum

AD/Graphic design/animation/interior architecture/spatial form Me and Anna Gathu / Cedervall architects were entrusted with designing Helsingborg Museum's new main exhibition with their art collection that is displayed at Dunkers Kulturhus. The art collection will thus have its own place and will be on permanent display for the first time since 2001. The starting point was to show art as a source of knowledge where different samples in associative themes arouse curiosity and lead to new knowledge. The intro to the exhibition therefore became an animated guide to how art can be read and art pedagogy has permeated all graphic design. All texts have been written in different levels with clear divisions so that visitors can quickly get an overview and choose for themselves how much they want to delve into them. The headline font was specially designed by Hans Samuelsson with inspiration from the buildings architecture and wants to encourage the reader to look closely. Resistance makes the message sit deeper. The rooms and walls are inspired by photo backgrounds, sheets of paper and skate parks to give energy and life to the show. The curves create natural distances instead of fencing and the perforated walls give a sense of work in progress and transparency to create the most accessible expression possible. The exhibition is on display until further notice.
